Byron Bayn hippikylä oli vain parin tunnin bussimatkan päässä Brisbanesta. Emme olleet löytäneet sohvaa sieltä ja jopa leirintäalueet tuntuivat tosi kallilta, joten varasimme YHA hostellin, jossa päädyimme maksamaan tähän asti kalleimman hinnan hostellihuoneesta: 100 AUD per yö. Tämä oli selvästi sesonkiaikaa, kun koulujen kesälomat ovat alkaneet (tuntuu vieläkin hullulta puhua kesästä joulukuussa!) ja hinnat pilvissä. The hippie town of Byron Bay was only a couple of hours’ bus drive away from Brisbane. We hadn’t found a couch in BB and even the campsites seemed really expensive, so we ended up booking a YHA hostel where we paid the highest price for a hostel room so far: 100AUD per night. It’s clearly high season now that the school’s out for summer (it still feels crazy to talk about summer in December!) and the prices were sky-high.
